Let me be clear from the start. I, Preston, am a stand for Love. Emily, my wife, is a stand for Healing, a form of Love. We don't claim that what we share with you is the truth. WHAT'S A SYNVOCATION? An invocation invokes Spirit. A Synvocation is meant to do the same, but the word better matches our teaching. These talks are Possibility seeds planted in the heart-mind, to nurture, grow, and help reveal one's already Authentic Self. BE HERE NOW Synvocation by Preston Klik for Aug 26, 2008 In zen, they ask "What is your original face, the face you had before you were born?" The face before you were born, the face before you were manifest, the face before you took form. The face you had before you were born is the same face everyone had before they were born. Paradoxically, it’s the face of Everything, and Nothing. It's the face of the Source of all. Of course, putting a face on Source is merely anthropomorphizing Source. The face you had before you were born is not a face we can imagine, for our imaginations are much too small and limited to imagine the face of Source. The Beatles sang "I am me and you are he and you are she and we are all together." And now you are here with us, all together in this present moment. This here is now, and no other time. This now is here, and no other place. In the here, in the now, there is no past, there is no future. There is here, and now. Here. And Now. If you are not present, not Here and Now, then you are elsewhere, not right Here, not right Now. So if you are not Here and Now, you are not present. But right Here, right Now is reality. So if you are somewhere else, if you are not present, if you are not right Here, not right Now, you are not in reality. For reality is ALWAYS Here, always Now. Reality is ONLY Here, and ONLY Now. So, for right now, I ask you to dissolve into reality. Which means be Here, be Now. Let thoughts about the past or future dissolve. Simply be Here, right Now. === Here's a point : Reality is never there, and never then. There, and then, are stories, or memories, not reality. They are in some past that was, not Now. They are in some place that was, not Here. There, and then, are fantasies, or what ifs, not reality. Stories may be interesting, may even be useful. But stories are not the ground of reality. Stories are just stories. Memories are just memories. They're not the truth of Here and Now. We all have lots of stories, stories about who we are. Stories about where you came from, stories about how and why you be you. You may even think you are your past, the sum total of your experiences. But if you are profoundly Here, and Now, you are profoundly free of your stories. You are free to Be ... anything you can Be. Being is not having, being is not doing. Being... is being. So, just for right now, let all your stories go. Set them free. That is to say set your Self free from your stories, good or bad. Dissolve into the Here and Now of reality. Simply be right Here, right Now, as consciousness. ===(((pause)))=== Humans Be, as a verb: Human Being. Who ARE you Being, human? Who are you Being when there is no story around you? What lights you up when you are free to just... be? What lights you up when you are free, in reality, to just... be? No story for you, no reason why not for you. Just ... freedom? What lights you up? What makes you glow? What makes you glow with light and Love? === In the depth of Here and Now, consciousness is all there is. In the depth of Here and Now, reality is all there is. Therefore reality = consciousness. Pure consciousness. The face we had before we were born. Before our stories about who we are in the world. Whatever story we have is a limit on our True Nature. And that's ok, we all have roles to play out in this world. But we should NEVER forget our True Nature, NEVER forget the Source we were born from. The Source we came from, the Source we will return to. Just as you are fundamentally consciousness, or Awareness, Itself, just so you are surrounded by rising Awareness. Everything arises in your awareness. Everything IS your awareness. Awareness arises. Everything arises in your consciousness. Everything IS your consciousness. Consciousness arises. Consciousness manifests, even AS other beings. But really these are your brothers and sisters, alive and breathing in your awareness, as Consciousness, Itself. As such, they are truly you. For you and they and I have the Self-same Source. At the level of Source, there is no differentiation. The recognition of Source brings with it identification with Source. In that fundamental identification with Source we go from being small, to being large. In that identification with Source naturally comes a vast and powerful expansion. Your heart - so often held tight like a fist - loosens its grip on itself, expands. Your heart reaches out in a gesture of companionship, of camaraderie, of acknowledgement. Your heart radiates outwardly as Source always does, in the universal gesture... of Light... and Love. ===(((pause)))=== It's our negative stories, or dark memories, that keep us from being Light. It's our limiting stories, or unhealthy fantasies, that keep us from being Love. Our dark stories about ourselves, our limiting stories about others. Our stories too often keep us from Loving. Our stories, whether "true" or not, are not Here, not Now. They are in the past, by definition. In fact, our stories actively keep us FROM reality which is only Here and only Now. They are a soft wall between us and Here, between us and Now, between us and "what is". Empowering stories have their uses. But stories of any sort keep us from being profoundly present. Stories keep us from accessing Source. Source is Here, and Now. Stories, memories, fantasies ... all are there and then, never Here and Now. If all our attention goes to our stories about the past and future, none of it goes to reality. And if we spend no time in reality... ===(((pause)))=== Limiting stories is my main concern. Drop your sad story, the one that says "I can't Be LOVE because (dotdotdot)" What follows the word "because" is your limiting story. "I can't Be LOVE because (dotdotdot)" What follows the word "because" is your story "why not". Your miserable story is your reason "why not". It's your excuse. And you hold onto it as if it eally WAS you! IT... is not you. It is NOT... you. Drop your pathetic story. It does not serve you. You say "I can't Be LIGHT because (dotdotdot)" What follows the word "because" is your story "why not". There's no Light in why not, no power in your sick story. Your story "why not" DIS-empowers you. And it will dis-empower you tomorrow, unless you get rid of it. In fact, it will disempower you until you drop dead. Unless you free yourself from it. So ... Drop whatever reason and excuse you hold on to. Drop any thoroughly justifiable circumstance that you identify with. Drop the clenched fist in your heart that says "I can't Be Love because (dotdotdot)" Soften the fist that is your heart. You may say "If only you knew what happened to me! My story is SO horrendous and terrible. You can't ask me to be Love. My story is who I AM. My story... is my identity. I can't possibly embody Light!" And as long as you declare that, as long as you idetify with your pathology, it IS you. Your pathological story then IS your identity. But again I ask you to free yourself from that sad story. It does not serve you. Which means it does not serve the world. Which means it does not serve Spirit. ===(((pause)))=== Here's the way it typically worls. More than likely you'd try to get me and others to buy into your little story, try to get others to create agreement around your reason why you are broken the way you are. And if we buy your story, you get to say to yourself "See? I AM the way I am because (dotdotdot) Even my friends agree!" I that way, we become enablers, holding you back from realizing your True Nature. You are SO much more than the sum total of your stories. But if you create your story as your identity, for yourself and others, then your story IS your identity. You know yourself as your limiting story, others know you as your old story, so you MUST be your disempowering story. But where is the room for a new story? A inspirational story? You must give up your little story for a new, bigger story. One that pulls you forward... into the Light. Why not invest your rare and precious life in a NEW story? What is to be gained by giving your very life over to your old pathological story? How about enrolling others in your new possibility? A new, bigger, brighter vision of who you might be, as in I am a human BEING... Light and Love, for instance. ===(((pause)))=== The Divine impulse is a gesture, a generous gesture of energy, a generous gesture of creative expression. You are a unique expression of that Divine. You are a unique expression of that Source, and you reflect its very essence in your own unique way. You are a whole and perfect child of God But you've got barriers to your loving (capital-S) Self-expression. Those barriers are your unhealthy stories... about why not. Those barriers are your limiting reasons... why not. Those barriers are your sad excuses... why not. === Pull this conversation toward you, open up to it. You've nothing to lose except your baggage. You've nothing to gain except the possibility of healing, insight, and bliss-ananda. The Divine imagination created whole worlds from nothing, setting processes in motion. Those processes roll forward, ever forward. The Divine Impulse pulls forth light. The Divine Impulse pulls forth life. The Divine Impulse pulls forth Love. The Divine Impulse pulls forth ... You. And within YOU, at all times and in all places, The Divine Impulse pulls forth ... a Higher You. If you heal, if you study, if you come to understanding, if you remove the barriers, the process will reveal a Higher You. A bigger you, Light-filled, will be revealed year by year, day by day, moment by moment. Perhaps even now. ===(((pause)))=== The great 20th century mystic Albert Einstein said "Either everything is a miracle, or nothing is a miracle." That's not just a statement, it's a challenge. It's a choice on how to live a life, YOUR life. And it is your choice. Either live i the technicolor world of "Everything is a miracle", or live in the gray flatness of "Nothing is." I say, EVERYTHING is a miracle, and tonight we're here to prove it, Tonight we're here to create the possibility of living life as such a realizaton. Living, breathing, loving, we are miracles, each expressing as a unique face of God. Here, in this Now, as psycho-physical beings, our Divine Light is called forth into expression. === This, THIS moment, is IT. There is no other moment than this moment. Right NOW is life. There's no other place to go, no other time to be. Right now, there's no past, only Now. There's no future, only Now. No others, only Us, We. We, together, be Here Now. My consciousness is embedded in your consciousness. Your field of awareness is the same field of awareness as mine. I say to each of you: Join us, all of us, in dropping any limiting story that holds you back, any story that regularly holds you from accessing your Source, any tale that prevents you from Being your Higher Self. Drop ANY ugly story you made up about someone in this room. Simply Be, Here and Now, in this co-created community. Some in this community of Here and Now are gently knocking on the door of bliss. Look around. Acknowledge the light and Love in each person here, for they Truly are one of the many faces of God. They truly had the same face as you, the one you had before you were born. Send a private signal to them: "Namaste: The Divine Light within me recognizes the Divine Light within you." When you look around and see the many FACETS of God, and as you acknowledge the many FACES of God before you, notice something ... THEY are looking at YOU, acknowledging YOU, recognizing the Divine Light in YOU!
