8:18 UPDATE THAT WAS SENT OUT 02/08/08 To our beloved 8:18 Dancers, Healers, Vendors, Volunteers, Friends and Crew: First of all, a HUGE THANK YOU from Preston and I to you....for your energy, for your support, for your love over the years. After months of consideration, deliberation and meditation, Preston and I have chosen for April 4th, 2008 to be the final 8:18 event at Unity. We feel that 8:18 has had a tremendously beautiful run, and there are many signs around us saying that it is time to bring 818 to completion. So we have these last 2 events, March 7th and April 4th.... Time to honor the energy we've collectively created. Time to say thank you, and good night to 8:18@Unity. Time to create a clearing for the next phase of our individual and collective journeys. (Please know that this decision was made by Preston and I, and does not involve Unity. Please direct any questions and/or response to us, not Unity. They have their own challenges and transitions) We have celebrated with you many times over the years. 54 so far, with 2 more to go, to be exact. That... is... amazing. We did not even know most of you Beautiful Shining Lights at our wedding post-party at 818 in 2004! We are sure that like us, you have seen SO many friendships and connections blossom out of the collective energy of 8:18@Unity, and are grateful for each opportunity to create sacred, fun, safe, joyful, self-expressive, accepting space. : ) For those of you who may be shocked, or upset, Preston and I are very sorry. That was not our intention. Your letters played a HUGE part in saving 8:18 from cancellation last April, and we tried, but were unable to sustain that energy. With less space (by roughly 1/2), there were less people involved, so less people promoting, and less cool sub-events to create the "circus" energy we had just a year ago. Steadily the energy has waned, we're worried about wearing out our amazing volunteers, and there is no more space at Unity in which to expand. A place what was once very freeing and joyful had become restricting and limiting. This happens in life, and we could not deny this reality any longer. So, we take it in stride, honor our process, celebrate the Love created through 8:18, and move forward to the next adventure! THANK YOU for all you've given to make 8:18 possible. It could not have been the same without you. In the immediate future, we will be celebrating at 8:18 on March 7th and April 4th.... we would love to raise the energetic roof at Unity with you, these last two 818@Unity events. === Currently, we are working closely with MKP to make GIVE PEACE A DANCE our *monthly* 18 and over public event, starting in May. We'll have 9 spaces for dance and sub-events, inc. an outdoor drum-circle, and fire-spinning. Plus we'll have a spiritual organization (MKP) welcoming our event. : ) We feel 2008 is ripe with opportunity, and we are praying for the highest and greatest good to manifest through our Work, and our community. We are grateful for every opportunity to produce these events for you... in the past, the present, and the future venues that are waiting for our collective energy to come and drum/dance/heal/sing/talk/share/meet/love with you. Whatever the future holds, we are excited, we are grateful, and most of all, we are complete. Creating Heaven on Earth, Always.
